Italian coach-builder reclothes Huracan to spin off roadster follow-up to striking 2014 coupe.
Famous Italian design house and coach-builder, Zagato, has teased a single picture of what’s almost certain to be a roadster version of the Lamborghini L595 it created to commemorate its 95th birthday back in 2014.
Sharing its name and wild curvaceous looks with the original L595 coupe that was unveiled at the 2014 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este at Lake Como in Switzerland, it’s thought the latest Zagato creation is based on the more modern Huracan Spyder, rather than the original’s Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera underpinnings.
It’s not known how many L595 Roadsters Zagato plans to build, but it’s thought to be offered for sale as a limited series-production model.

The first L595 coupe featured a lightweight aluminium body and a much shorter rear overhang to emphasis its dramatic proportions.
Up front, a gaping fish-like mouth dominated the design.
Look closer and you’ll see large lateral gill vents that help the aero, while a centrally mounted roof air intake (absent on the new Roadster) fed more air into its 5.2-litre V10.
At the rear, the striking but not conventionally beautiful Lambo featured large circular brake lights, a full-width mesh rear grille and four tailpipes that neatly exit the rear bumper.

The latest L595 Zagato, meanwhile, is thought to come with the most powerful 470kW/600Nm 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 from the Huracan Performante Spyder that was unleased this March at the Geneva motor show.
Despite missing out on that car’s special active wind-bending, the lighter-still Zagato should hit 100km/h in less than three seconds and top out at around 330km/h.
The ultra-limited run Zagato is likely to be unveiled at the 2018 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, held on the shores of Lake Como on May 25.
Pricing is expected to be at least four times the $532,635 (plus on-road costs) Lamborghini charges for the Huracan Performante Spyder, which arrives Down Under in the fourth quarter of this year.
