Super sports utility vehicle
Italian super sports car maker Lamborghini today launched its first super sports utility vehicle ‘Urus’ in the country, priced at Rs 3 crore.
With the launch of a new model, Lamborghini expects its volumes to surge 2.5-3 times.

“India as a market is playing a very interesting role step by step into the overall sales globally. Urus will change the game for Lamborghini in India in terms of volumes and we expect to grow our volumes 2.5-3 times,” Lamborghini General Manager for Asia Pacific Andrea Baldi said.

Lamborghini Urus will also be the company’s first SUV since LM002 which was on sale from 1986-1993. It was first showcased at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show
India is a strategic market for the company
Stating that India is a strategic market for the company’s further growth, Lamborghini India head Sharad Agarwal said given the preference for SUV cars among Indians, “we believe that Urus is going to be an exciting and important product and will open up a completely new segment of customers for us in India.”

Urus’ Performance
The SUV will have a maximum speed of 305 km/h and it will attain 0-100km in just 3.6seconds. The car will come with a four-wheel drive with limited slip central differential and asymmetric/dynamic torque distribution (Torsen-type).

The super car will also have a superior braking system as the front brakes will be equipped with front aluminium 10 piston brake calipers and floating 6 piston brake calipers
